"B" is for Birthday and today, my tiny baby, is one year older.....and getting closer to 30.
Today, my beautiful daughter Morganne Charlene Aubert was born. She is definitely the spark in our family and there is no one else like her. She is incredibly talented, funny, witty, strong with a dash of marshmellow inside.
While she is only 7 years old today, I just know that this kid has that certain something, something sparkly and mischievous and it all relates back to the day of her birth.
See, Hubby and I knew we were going to be induced with Morganne, so, I thought it would be great if she was born on April 1st - what a great birthday to have!! We went into the hospital on March 31st and that little shit wouldn't come out and made me go through labor until 7:10 a.m. on April 2nd.
My OB even went to go get a haircut and then said he would be back to break my water and get this party started. So after breaking my water, he told my husband to "gear up" and get ready to catch.
I didn't even have time for my epidural to start before that little turd came racing out of the shoot. They set that little squirt on my belly, and she gave me the fish eyes and no breathing baby look. Hubby quickly grabbed her off my tummy and took her over to the warmer where he and the nurse gave her oxygen and suction and then she perked right up.
I knew right away that this kid was going to give me a run for the money.
So my beautiful Pippy......Happy Birthday!!!! Your Daddy and I love you tremendously!
Wiping the tears from my eyes. Can I stay in denial a bit longer please? I'm not ready.
ReplyDeleteJenn - I know it kills me. Thank goodness we have each other, because I am going to need you for at least the next 100 years to get over them being teenagers!
DeleteMy son is a year and half old and I feel like I am losing him every day. What beautiful children you have. And try to remember you've got 23 more years before she is 30.
ReplyDeletePatty - Thanks! I just hope that they stay good kids, that's all I ask.
DeleteHappy Birthday, Pippy!
ReplyDeleteShe says thank you thoughtsy!!
DeleteOhhOOoHH, I'm sitting here eating a bagel with Nutella, my 14-month-old and I just returned home from picking the 7-year-old up at the bus stop. You're so right ... it goes so quickly!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your munchkin ... may seven be even cooler than six ever thought about being. :-)
Thanks Cherstin, she is super cool

ReplyDeleteThank you Laura
DeleteKaren - thank you!!
ReplyDeleteAh, cute kid! I like kids and feel sorry for those who have nobody to love them. Thankfully, that isn't the case with you and hubby. Love them all you can because they do grow up like weeds!
ReplyDeleteYOUR kids are adorable! Wonderful photos...they are filled with spirit~ You wouldn't want it any other way!

Ah, the sweet memories of childbirth. :D
ReplyDeleteIt's so nice to meet you, thanks to the A to Z Challenge. I hope you have as much fun as I'm having.

I never thought I would say this, but...they grow up so fast, don't they. I clearly remember the day my niece was born. I wish time would go by much slower.
ReplyDeleteOh how time flies! I don't have any children of my own, but I was lucky enough to experience the birth of one of my nieces {along with my brother & his wife, obviously!}. It was such a joyful experience, and it seems like it happened just yesterday, but she will be 2 in May!
ReplyDeletehappy birthday to your beautiful baby!
